Letitia Quinones’ Client Gets Reduced Bond, Will Claim Self-Defense in Death of Rapper Known as Takeoff

Attorney Letitia Quinones told reporters she will argue that client Patrick Xavier Clark was acting in self-defense in the fatal shooting of Kirsnick Khari Ball, known professionally as the rapper Takeoff.

Ms. Quinones spoke to media moments after leaving a Dec. 14 hearing where she succeeded in getting Mr. Clark’s bond cut in half, from $2 million to $1 million. She said she is confident Mr. Clark will meet all security requirements set forth by Judge Josh Hill.

“There are some things that the judge has asked us to do, and we intend to follow through with those things,” said Ms. Quinones.

Ms. Quinones also asked for patience as she and her co-counsel, Carl Moore, prepare Mr. Clark’s defense.

“He will have a valid and meritorious claim for self-defense,” said Ms. Quinones. “However, we will reserve any right to questions and to talk about that further specifically in court — because we want to try this case in court, which is where it should be — not in the media.”
